Dinosaurs 🦕

This week at PLA, we were transported back in time to the land of dinosaurs! We stomped, roared, and learned everything we could about these fascinating creatures.

We unleashed our inner artists and painted with dinosaurs, leaving behind a trail of muddy dinosaur footprints. We even discovered just how big a Triceratops footprint is – it turns out, 11 of us can fit inside one!

But the dino-mite fun didn't stop there! We played with dinosaurs in both the classroom and the playground, letting our imaginations run wild. We crafted stunning dinosaur silhouette art and created our own fossils using fossil dough.

Our week ended with a bang (or should I say, an eruption?) as we created our very own volcanoes and fizzy dinosaur eggs using baking soda and vinegar. It was like a prehistoric science experiment come to life!

One of our VIPs brought in the coolest dinosaur book, filled with dinosaur names (and pronunciations) and cool pictures. We all learned so much about these prehistoric giants, and it was so kind of our friend to share their knowledge with us.

























































































This week at PLA was a ROARING success! We stomped, we learned, and we had a blast exploring the world of dinosaurs.

Polar Animals - Hibernation and Migration

The past two weeks in preschool have been a whirl of icy adventures and cozy critters! We jumped into the world of polar animals, reading books, making snowy owl paintings, and even creating our own icy sensory tubs with miniature penguins, seals, polar bears, and more polar animals. We also explored the mysteries of hibernation and migration. We learned which animals snuggle up for winter naps and which take long journeys south. Our imaginations soared with "picture starter art," where googly eyes became amazing creatures on blank paper! We even painted cozy bear caves and celebrated Groundhog Day with a shadow art adventure outside (spoiler alert: Punxatawny Phil didn't see his shadow!). ☀️ We learned a catchy hibernation song, welcomed our first two special "VIPS" (Very Important Preschoolers) who are graduating this year, and of course, celebrated some birthdays!

Christmas fun 🎄

 Ho Ho Ho and Happy Holidays from PLA!  We welcomed a new friend who fit right in and is a great addition to our PLA family.  We've had a whirlwind of wintery fun, and we wanted to share some of the magical moments with you, our amazing families. The scent of cinnamon and ginger filled the classroom with our homemade gingerbread play dough.  We hopped on the magical Polar Express, after reading the story and decorating cookies. As we rode along, we sipped hot cocoa and our imaginations soared as we jingled bells and practiced our "Believe"s, reminding ourselves that Christmas magic truly exists. Our classrooms shimmered as we crafted ornaments. Glitter flew, paint dripped, and tiny fingerprints proudly showcased their creations – the perfect decorations for the tree and gifts for parents!
