Halloween and Pumpkin Fun 🎃

We have had so much fun talking about Halloween ad exploring pumpkins! We learned "5 Little Pumpkins sitting on a Gate" We made orange and black playdough... painted with bats, spiders, and other creepy crawling things... we made a sensory table with rice and spiders... we cleaned out pumpkins and carved them... we painted them and hammered them too... it wouldn't be Halloween without some ghost feet (and a couple of hands... because sensory issues are real) we even painted a few babydoll feet this year.

We made a Pumpkin Jack like from the book and we will watch him change and then when he gets really gross we will throw him out and see if he grows more pumpkins... we created Spookly the Square Pumpkin art after reading the book that teaches you to not judge a book or pumpkin by it's cover.

We had our 2nd field trip of the year to the courthouse for some trick or treating. Thank you so much for our parents that make these outings possible!!

 Last week at PLA Academy, we had a blast celebrating Dr. Seuss! We spent the whole week exploring his whimsical world through stories, silly activities, and creative art projects. Dinosaurs 🦕

This week at PLA, we were transported back in time to the land of dinosaurs! We stomped, roared, and learned everything we could about these fascinating creatures. We unleashed our inner artists and painted with dinosaurs, leaving behind a trail of muddy dinosaur footprints. We even discovered just how big a Triceratops footprint is – it turns out, 11 of us can fit inside one! But the dino-mite fun didn't stop there! We played with dinosaurs in both the classroom and the playground, letting our imaginations run wild. We crafted stunning dinosaur silhouette art and created our own fossils using fossil dough. Our week ended with a bang (or should I say, an eruption?) as we created our very own volcanoes and fizzy dinosaur eggs using baking soda and vinegar. Polar Animals - Hibernation and Migration

The past two weeks in preschool have been a whirl of icy adventures and cozy critters! We jumped into the world of polar animals, reading books, making snowy owl paintings, and even creating our own icy sensory tubs with miniature penguins, seals, polar bears, and more polar animals. We also explored the mysteries of hibernation and migration. We learned which animals snuggle up for winter naps and which take long journeys south. Our imaginations soared with "picture starter art," where googly eyes became amazing creatures on blank paper! We even painted cozy bear caves and celebrated Groundhog Day with a shadow art adventure outside (spoiler alert: Punxatawny Phil didn't see his shadow!). ☀️ We learned a catchy hibernation song, welcomed our first two special "VIPS" (Very Important Preschoolers) who are graduating this year, and of course, celebrated some birthdays!
